Benjamin Buchholz

Benjamin Buchholz is the author of The Tightening Dark (Da Capo, 2021), One Hundred and One Nights (Back Bay, 2011) and several other fiction and non-fiction projects. Specializing in contemporary military issues and military history, Ben has ghost-written several projects as well as producing award-winning military thought leadership, such as his essay "Planning for Positive Strategic Shock in the Department of Defense." A Colonel in the US Army Reserves, Ben is currently commanding a reserve Brigade. Previous assignments have included Senior Intelligence Liaison from US European Command to Ukraine (2022-2023), Senior Defense Official, US Embassy-Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and Army Attache, US Embassy-Sana'a, Yemen. To make matters more complicated, Ben is also working on a lo-fi EDM album after co-writing the hiphop single "Sweet Small Voice" with Kiyoshi and OpenOptics.
